MATILDA DODS
Matilda Dods is a writer and model. In her own words, she has always been a writer, but she has also been a singer and a model, and they all feel like versions of the same thing: taking your clothes off for a living, then constructing a story out of your body and your words.
As a model she has walked internationally for Prada, Gucci and Marc Jacobs. As a writer she has been published in RUSSH, ELLE and Marie Claire. Her Substack, Cringe Mountain, is home to essays on bodies, attention and the internet, and has built a steady readership inside the fashion industry itself.
She is currently completing a Master's of Creative Writing at the University of Sydney. On the subject of fashion and beauty, she holds a heresy for someone in her line of work: that it's not that deep. Creativity is an ethical imperative, but it doesn't have to be beautiful, stylish, or even meaningful.
